San Diego tops national list for dog bite attacks

Dog attacks are hot topics after the video of a cat defending a young boy from an attacking dog went viral. The video appears to depict a cat saving the young boy from a dog bite. Although the video may lead to renewed vigilance for parents watching over children around dogs, it is not the only piece of alarming news. A recent report released by the Associated Press notes that authorities recently released statistics on dog bites throughout the country in an effort to promote dog bite awareness.

California community debates proposals concerning pit bulls

One California community is considering banning pit bulls.  Pit bulls are considered by at least one authority to be the most aggressive dog.  Unfortunately, certain breeds of dogs have been bred to fight.

Federal traffic agency prepares for influx of older drivers

Almost four months have gone by since one bicyclist was killed and another was seriously injured in a collision with a North County Transit Bus in Camp Pendleton. Questions remain after fatal 5-car crash south of Sacramento

A serious criminal investigation is underway in Lodi, California, after five people were killed in a tragic car crash last week. California woman faces manslaughter, DUI charges for fatal crash

Many people may recall hearing about a tragic alleged drunk driving accident that occurred near Alpine last summer. The chain-reaction collision took place June 11, 2012, in the early morning hours when a woman lost control of her Toyota Yaris on Interstate 8 and drove up an embankment, ultimately rolling onto the left-hand lane. Soon after this, a man pulled over and got out of his vehicle to check on the woman and call the police. A woman driving an Audi then crashed into the Toyota and the man.

Increasing number of dog attacks a national trend

The number of dog attacks grows in the summer months, something that isn't too surprising when you consider more people are outside, enjoying the weather with their friends (and man's best friend). Increased interaction between people and dogs inherently means there will be more incidents where a person suffers a dog bite.
