A San Diego boater is recuperating following an explosion on his boat that caused him to suffer serious burn injuries to his legs, hands and face. Local fire department investigators are not yet sure of the reason for the explosion, but they believe that it was caused by fuel fumes that ignited when the boater flipped his boat's battery switch on.
Last Monday, a Riverside County man was hospitalized with severe injuries, including severe burns to his entire body, from a weekend motorcycle accident on State Route 76 in the Pala area. The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday when 60-year-old Martin Davidoff's 2002 Yamaha motorcycle collided with the rear of a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pickup had been stopped in the middle of traffic near Magee Road when the motorcycle collided with the truck.
