William Shatner involved in car accident in California

On Behalf of | Dec 30, 2021 | Car Accidents |

It often seems like celebrities lead completely different lives than the average person. But sometimes, they deal with the same problems that everyone else does. In this case, Hollywood celebrity William Shatner was involved in a car accident in Studio City. The cause of the accident is not clear at this time and further investigations may be required to find out if either driver was at fault.

Minor collisions can still be problematic

Fortunately, neither driver was injured. The accident, which happened in the afternoon, involved 90-year-old Shatner, who was driving his Mercedes SUV, and another driver in a silver car. Shatner’s two dogs were in the vehicle with him. The other driver was alone in her vehicle. Both vehicles had front-end damage and the woman’s car ran off the road and onto the curb.

LAPD was called to the scene of the accident, but because there were no physical injuries, a report was not filed. Mr. Shatner and the other driver exchanged information at the scene. It will now be up to the insurance companies to find out the cause of the accident and determine the monetary damages based on their findings.

Legal help after a motor vehicle accident

While many car accidents are minor, with only physical damages to the vehicles involved, others can be very serious. When someone is injured in a car accident, they often have extensive medical bills afterward, along with costs associated with loss of work or extended physical therapy for injuries suffered. If it can be determined that the other driver was at fault, the injured party may have cause to pursue a civil case against the driver and anyone else with an ownership interest in the vehicle involved. A California attorney with personal injury experience can provide advice on how to proceed.
