Fatal accident kills two workers at airport UPS facility

The holidays can be hectic for everyone in San Diego. This is exponentially worse for workers who are involved in any aspect of the delivery field. Packages large and small are traveling across the world, and it can make workplaces a dangerous place with injuries and fatalities unfortunately common. For people who have lost a loved one in a fatal accident on the job, it is important to act quickly to determine the cause and take the necessary steps to recover compensation in a wrongful death claim.

An accident at a Southern California airport facility where UPS packages arrive and are sorted, killed two workers. A vehicle that functions like a tractor and is used for heavy packages fell over and landed on them. They were crushed.

The accident occurred in the morning and the local fire department contacted the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) at just after 7:20 a.m. This location is used as a hub for packages. It recently increased its production levels substantially. The case is being investigated and UPS expressed its condolences and regrets for it.

The emotional effect of a fatal accident is undeniable. People will be stunned to receive the news that a loved one was killed on the job. After the initial shock, there are other issues that will come to the forefront. That includes the funeral costs, loss of companionship, lost income and much more.

While it can be difficult to think about in such a troublesome time, it is imperative that those left behind act quickly to take the necessary steps to recover compensation in a legal filing. Although employers and insurers will undoubtedly be compassionate, that does not mean a settlement offer they make is fair. Having legal assistance can provide the necessary protection to maximize compensation.

At a UPS sorting center, two workers died in a crush accident. The investigation is commencing. As this takes place, the families of the workers who died should make sure they are fully protected by calling a law firm that has experience in wrongful death cases and work accidents. This may be the critical part of recovering sufficient compensation for all that was lost in the present and what will be lost in the future.
