A collision between a mountain bike and a car turned out to be tragic for the bicyclist. The man was hit by a car on the California roadway in the early morning. He was 25 years old and did not survive the accident.
It was around 3:44 a.m. that the body of the 25-year-old bicyclist was found. He was riding his bike south at the time and was hit from behind. The vehicle that hit him was a Chevrolet truck driven by a 65-year-old man.
According to the highway patrol involved with the accident, the driver of the truck was not injured. It was also reported that the authorities did not believe the driver was impaired in any way at the time of the accident. The exact cause of the accident or any definitive statement of culpability has not yet been released.
Once the investigation by authorities unfolds, it may show that the driver of the truck was negligent in some way. If so, there may be cause for legal action on the part of the family of the man who was hit by a car and lost his life. That family may find that a wrongful death suit in a California civil court could be appropriate as they deal with the emotional and financial aftermath of losing a loved one in such a tragic manner. The monetary damages could alleviate the strain of funeral costs, lost wages or other financial issues that may have arisen in the wake of the accident.
