Chaotic pedestrian accident California causes death of three

| Jul 5, 2016 | Pedestrian Accidents |

A chaotic scene unfolded along the highway, and three people lost their lives as a result. The incident started out as a car accident and ended up as a fatal pedestrian accident. The California Highway Patrol arrested one woman as a result of the accident.

It all started when a Prius hit another vehicle, and those two vehicles blocked a lane. Another vehicle pulled over to help, and a fourth vehicle came onto the scene. That vehicle swerved to avoid hitting the driver of the Prius and then struck two men who were standing outside of the vehicles as well as one of the other vehicles. A third man who was inside one of the disabled vehicles died in the impact.

One of the men who died as 31 years old. The identity or specifics about the other two who died were not reported as family had not been contacted yet. The driver of the vehicle that struck and killed the men was a 62-year-old man.

The woman who was driving the Prius was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. There was no word as to any charges filed against the driver who hit the people outside of the disabled vehicles and the man inside one of the vehicles. Once the California authorities investigate this incident further, there may be answers to any questions of liability. The families of the victims killed in this vehicle and pedestrian accident may have civil options that can lead to monetary damages, which may prove useful as these families face medical bills, funeral costs or other expenses related to the tragic deaths of their loved ones.
