A teenage boy has suffered injuries after an accident. The driver who caused the accident now faces criminal charges in California. The bike accident led to the boy’s hospitalization, and he is being treated for numerous injuries.

The incident unfolded on a Monday night at around 8:30 p.m. The boy was on a bicycle at an intersection. A truck came along and hit him. Then, the driver of that truck sped away from the scene.

People rushed to the scene of the collision and gave authorities the license plate number of the truck, along with a description of the vehicle. The police were able to find and arrest the driver of that truck a short time later. He was a 22-year-old male, and he has been charged with felony drunk driving causing injury in addition to charges related to leaving the scene of an accident in which injuries were caused.

In this case, the young man who was the victim in the bike accident needed to be flown to a hospital and treated for numerous injuries. While the injuries were not life-threatening, they could very well be costly for the young man’s family. In a case in which a minor is injured in a bike accident due to the negligence of a driver, a family may have grounds to pursue a personal injury suit in a California civil court. This legal action can result in a monetary award of damages that could help that family deal with the cost of the injuries sustained and the other financial ramifications of the accident.
