Loss of control leads to pedestrian accident in California

While two women checked on a disabled car, a driver lost control on a highway. This lead to a pedestrian accident that resulted in injuries. The episode unfolded on a California highway on a Thursday night.

A Ford Focus was heading east on the highway when something happened to one of its wheel wells. This led to the driver pulling the vehicle over into the center median. A 20-year-old and a 21-year-old woman got out of the car and were in the midst of checking out the damage to the car. This is when another vehicle came along and swerved to avoid the debris in the road. Then, that driver lost control and hit both the disabled Ford Focus as well as the two women.

The driver that hit the women was not injured. However, the two women victims needed medical treatment for the injuries they sustained. They were both transported to area hospitals. While there were no specifics given about the women's injuries, it was reported that those injuries were not life-threatening.

The driver who hit them may not face any criminal charges for the incident. Yet, if they so choose to do so, the two pedestrian accident victims can still pursue some form of legal protection through a personal injury suit in a California civil court. This legal option may result in the garnering of monetary damages which can be helpful as both victims now have medical bills to contend with and may have also suffered financial problems if they have lost wages or other expenses related to the car accident.
