Police in California are actively searching for a driver who hit a pedestrian recently. The pedestrian accident took the life of a victim and the driver left the scene after the collision. The accident happened on the roadway near a college in California.

It was in the middle of the night when police got a phone call that someone had been injured. When they arrived on the scene, they found the male victim injured. Unfortunately, the male victim died as a result of being hit by the car.

There were a few witnesses to the pedestrian accident. The police have asked any other witnesses to come forward with any information that may help find the driver of the car that hit the man. The boulevard that was the scene of the hit-and-run accident was closed for a short time while an investigation commenced.

Once California authorities are able to locate the driver of the car that was involved in this pedestrian accident and who then left the scene of the accident, criminal charges may possibly be filed. Despite the criminal charges possibly filed in this case, the family of the man who lost his life may have options through the civil court system. That family may be able to pursue a wrongful death suit in a civil court, and, in doing so, they may possibly garner monetary damages that could prove helpful as they face the financial ramifications of losing a loved one in such a tragic and sudden manner.
