Bicyclist hit, killed near California park

While there are certainly many different circumstances that can cause a fatal car accident, many people, especially the family of the person who died, often think the car accident could have been avoided. There are often particular issues, such as distracted driving or bad signage on the road, that play a role in the unfortunate incident.

Recently, a 52-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a pickup truck as she was riding her bike near a California park. The accident happened around 8 a.m. Although police are calling the crash a tragic accident and say they do not expect to make any arrests, a further analysis of the incident may be important to the victim’s family.

Police say the female driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and was cooperative. It appears she was driving to work. Her car was facing the sun as she drove, which may have made it hard to see. It doesn’t appear that drug or alcohol use was a concern in this case.

Time and further investigation could be crucial to finding out if the driver was acting negligently in any way, such as texting, during the time of the crash. Similarly, it may be a good idea to look into problems with the road itself. One neighbor pointed out that he has asked for crosswalks in the area and has complained about drivers who speed in their neighborhood.

These types of accidents are usually devastating for the victim’s family as well as the person who drove the vehicle. While this may have truly been an unfortunate accident, it may be wise to take a further look into the incident to make sure negligence wasn’t a key factor.
