Twenty bus riders were injured when an SUV rear-ended a Metropolitan Transit System bus this morning in Chula Vista, according to NBC San Diego.

The news report explains that the SUV was behind the bus near a stop on Chula Vista Street when it suddenly crashed into the bus, which had pulled over to pick up passengers. More than five ambulances were called to the scene to take injured bus passengers to area hospitals. The driver of the SUV also suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The cause of this rear-end accident has not been reported.

This bus accident should remind San Diego drivers that it is very important to share the roads with buses. These vehicles often have a large number of people on board, people who are not wearing seatbelts, and collisions can result in serious injuries.

Rear-end accidents are one of the most common types of car accidents in California, and these accidents often result in neck and back injuries. Rear-end accidents are often caused by distraction or speeding, but there can be a number of factors that lead to these collisions.

Those who are injured in car accidents should always seek legal counsle in order to ensure that they obtain fair compensation in order to pay their medical bills and related expenses. Insurance companies often pressure people to settle claims quickly, but it is important for car accident victims to understand their legal rights and the full extent of their injuries before accepting a settlement.
