El Cajon man killed in two-vehicle accident

On Behalf of | Feb 12, 2013 | Car Accidents |

An accident on Route 94 in Dulzura resulted in one fatality. The accident occurred when a pickup truck heading east on Route 94 veered across the center line into oncoming traffic. The pickup truck collided head-on with a westbound Nissan Sentra.

The driver of the Sentra died in the accident. Two passengers riding in the Sentra were injured, along with the driver of the pickup truck. The injured persons were all taken to the hospital for treatment. As no witnesses observed the accident, details of the crash are not very clear. However, an investigation into the accident may determine what caused the pickup truck to swerve.

It is possible that the driver of the pickup truck was distracted by something within the vehicle in the moments before the collision occurred. If a driver takes his or her eyes off of the road for just a few seconds, he or she could cause the vehicle to swerve.

This accident demonstrates how fatal collisions can occur in an instant. The driver of the Sentra was in the correct lane when the pickup truck crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. Regardless of whether the pickup truck driver was distracted, drunk, or drowsy when the accident occurred, this driver’s actions resulted in another person’s death.

Family and friends of the man who died are probably devastated by his sudden death. In this situation, filing a wrongful death lawsuit may be worthwhile. The family of the man who died may be able to receive compensation for unexpected expenses that were incurred as a result of the accident, like funeral expenses and lost wages. While financial compensation cannot make up for the loss of a family member, it may make moving forward after the loved one’s death somewhat less stressful.
