Driver kills husband and injures wife in motorcycle crash

On Behalf of | Feb 5, 2013 | Motorcycle Accidents |

This past weekend, a couple was riding their motorcycle when a tragic accident occurred. The couple had stopped to make a left turn, but the car behind them did not stop and collided with the couple’s motorcycle. The husband was injured in the collision, and the wife was killed.

The man driving the car faces charges for vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. According to a report from officials, drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident. It is unclear though whether the driver’s blood alcohol content was over the legal limit.

Regardless of the driver’s BAC, it is likely that he was not fully paying attention to the other vehicles on the road when the collision occurred. As a result of this likely negligence, a man lost his wife and is injured himself.

When this type of accident occurs, the family of those injured and killed in the crash will likely be shocked and unsure of how to proceed after the accident. A serious crash of this type can result in unexpected medical expenses and lost wages. When a family member dies in a motorcycle accident, car crash, or any other type of fatal accident, seeking financial compensation for the family member’s loss, medical expenses, lost wages and any pain or suffering may be worthwhile.

Moving forward from this type of serious accident can be especially difficult if more than one family member is involved in the accident, as in this collision. While financial compensation will not eliminate the pain of losing one or more family members, it may help ease financial worries that are likely to arise after this type of traumatic event.
