Two killed in San Diego motorcycle accident

Last month, a San Diego man was walking his dog near his California home when he was struck by a motorcycle that was traveling at a high speed. The force of the collision caused the deaths of both the pedestrian and the motorcyclist, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

According to police reports, the fatal motorcycle accident took place at about 9:30 p.m. near State Route 56 in San Diego. The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Army veteran, was driving his motorcycle at speeds over 100 miles per hour when he crashed into the 29-year-old man, who was out for his evening walk with his dog. It is not known if the dog was injured in the crash.

The police have not released many details about the fatal crash or what, exactly, caused each man's death. Many motorcycle fatalities occur when the motorcyclist is thrown from his or her bike, so it is safe to assume that is what happened in this situation. Regardless of the cause of the crash, it was certainly a tragic turn of events.

When a fatal accident occurs, it is hard to feel anything but sad for everyone involved, regardless of who was at fault and the circumstances surrounding the crash. However, this does not mean that the families of the victims that unnecessarily lost their lives should not seek legal recourse for their suffering. Wrongful death and other personal injury lawsuits can help families recoup medical and funeral costs and other expenses they incurred as a result of the negligence of the person or people that caused the crash. An experienced personal injury attorney can help families determine whether such a lawsuit is the proper next step for them to take.
