Joe Jackson to File Wrongful Death lawsuit against AEG

It's been almost a year since the King of Pop passed away, shocking the world and sending millions of fans into mourning. Now his father, the oft-criticized Joe Jackson, is announcing a wrongful death lawsuit to be filed against Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG). AEG is one of the largest entertainment presenters in the world, with fingers in everything from sports arenas to event promotion.

It was AEG that teamed with Michael Jackson last year to promote the iconic musician's final tour, a set of 50 concerts at London's O2 Arena. The tour, entitled "This is It," was a massive affair, designed to both reintroduce Michael Jackson to fans and immortalize his contribution to popular music.

However, less than a month before his first show, Jackson suffered a fatal cardiac arrest and passed away. Shortly after, the documentary film "This is It" was released, documenting the singer's final moments during the build up for the tour of the same name. The documentary was a massive hit.

Since Jackson's death, rumors and allegations have flown freely, focused mostly on his personal physician. Joe Jackson will also file a wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray, who was recently charged with involuntary manslaughter for the fatal dosage of Propofal given to Jackson the night before his death. Murray has maintained his innocence throughout the questions and controversy.

In the wrongful death suit against AEG, Jackson accuses the organization of essentially "working Michael to death." He alleges a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and apparent disregard to Michael's prescription drug addiction. He will also argue that AEG forced Michael to commit to an intense rehearsal schedule and extended concert engagement.

There has been no word yet on the amount of money sought in either lawsuit.
